Dolphins GM says he's 'comfortable' with RBs on roster

After losing Lamar Miller, the Miami Dolphins' current running back depth chart consists of Jay Ajayi, Damien Williams, Jahwan Edwards, Daniel Thomas and Isaiah Pead. According to GM Chris Grier, he's content if that's the group that enters the 2016 season.

"I think we're comfortable," he said Friday, via the Miami Herald. "I think (with) Coach (Adam) Gase's history of what he has done with running backs, these guys all fit what he's looking for in terms of their skill sets. But again, we'll take any opportunity we can to add at any position if it's a good football player."

Hold onto your heads, kids, that is hella spin coming out of Miami.

Really, Mr. Grier? Really? You are comfortable with your running backs? That's why you signed C.J. Anderson to a big offer sheet and chased after Chris Johnson, only to be rebuffed on both accounts?

Actions speak louder than words.

Ajayi showed flashes as a rookie, but there are major questions about whether he can be a workhorse -- especially given his knee injury history.

It's also worth noting that Gase has a history of shuffling multiple running backs. More than one back will see the ball. Williams is a mid-level pass-catching back and the rest is magoo.

The Dolphins are a prime candidate to draft a running back during next week's draft. Ezekiel Elliott, the draft's top back, might not be around at No. 13, but at some point Miami will need to add a partner for Ajayi, regardless of how "comfortable" Grier might claim he is with his current group.
