Is Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett doing a favor for a couple of his New Orleans Saints draft picks from a decade ago?
The Redskins announced Wednesday the signings of veteran wide receivers Donte' Stallworth and Devery Henderson.
Although Stallworth has experience in the offense of Mike and Kyle Shanahan from 11 games with the Redskins in 2011, he went unsigned last season until the New England Patriots picked him up as a December flier.
Once a deep-threat specialist with questionable hands in New Orleans, Henderson saw his role with the Saints gradually scaled back over the past few seasons. The Redskins already have a younger, faster version of Henderson in Aldrick Robinson.
Neither Stallworth nor Henderson is a good bet to crack the final roster, but the Redskins will have them on speed dial if Pierre Garcon and Leonard Hankerson suffer through another season of nagging injuries.
