NFL draft prospects and commissioner Goodell will join in the festivities on Wednesday, April 27. The draft prospects will lead local students in a youth football clinic from 9:45-10:15 a.m., followed by a media availability at the clinic fields until 11:15 a.m. Those credentialed to cover the 2011 NFL Draft may pick up their credential at this event.
As a legacy of the NFL PLAY 60 Youth Football Festival, the NFL will make a donation to support KaBOOM!, the national non-profit dedicated to bringing play back into the lives of children.
Deion Sanders will introduce this year's NFL Network Keep Gym in School Fitness Program winners -- four middle school students who showed the most improvement and dedication to fitness. A program of NFL PLAY 60, Keep Gym in School is NFL Network's comprehensive national program to boost fitness and physical education in America's middle schools. NFL Network also will recognize their Teacher of the Year at the event.
NFL PLAY 60 partners HOPSports and the National Dairy Council also will be on-site as part of their ongoing commitment to motivate youth and families to get out and be active.
The NFL PLAY 60 Youth Football Festival will take place in partnership with Under Armour and the New York City Department of Education. It is one of a series of community events taking place in New York during Draft week. Other events include a hospital visit by Draft prospects, a football donation to a Harlem Boys & Girls Club sponsored by GMC, and an NFL PREP Sports Career Expo for local student athletes, in conjunction with Why Not Sports, Inc.
