Harris stayed out of practice this week because of the injury.

The knee already bothered Harris before Sunday's 27-24 loss in overtime to Tampa Bay. He had offseason knee surgery, but has had knee soreness since early preseason.

Harris aggravated the injury against the Buccaneers, Smith said.

"He hasn't practiced this week, so it had to be that," Smith said. "He played in the game and he hasn't done anything since then, so the game definitely had something to do with it."

Smith said Harris could play even though he hasn't practiced.

"It just depends on how his knee feels Sunday," he said.

"I'd consider shutting him down if he isn't ready to go," Smith said. "If he is ready to go we play him -- that's the standard policy always. So if Tommie is ready to go Sunday morning (he plays), if not he won't."

Harris insisted to reporters that he'll play, before becoming sarcastic and referring to himself in the third person.

"He has to show up, no question," Harris said. "They gave him all that money, you know. I guess since he plays for the money he better do something now because they paid him all that money."

Harris got a $40 million contract extension before the start of training camp. He has made two total tackles in three games.

If Harris is unable to play defensive tackle Anthony Adams could be active for the first time this season, Smith said.

"He's (Harris) one of the best tackles in the league, if not the best, so him not being able to go would be very big and we're going to need some guys to step up and make more plays -- that's if he can't go," defensive end Alex Brown said.

The Bears also listed return man/wide receiver Devin Hester and wide receiver Brandon Lloyd questionable and they are game-time decisions. Both practiced Friday on a limited basis.

Lloyd has a hip injury suffered in Wednesday's practice and Hester has been out since the second game of the season with sore ribs.
