The Houston Texans could use some good news up front on offense, and Saturday they got it.
Left tackle Duane Brown (quad) won't start the season on the physically unable to perform list -- a roster action that would have force him to miss the first six weeks of the season -- the team confirmed Saturday. In addition, the Texans also moved injured linebacker J.J. Watt (back) to the active roster.
The Texans were already down rookie center Nick Martin, who will miss his first season after ankle surgery. Brown, who had surgery this offseason on his quadriceps, needed more time to get back on the field in form.
Chris Clark, a 30-year-old vet who played his last four seasons with the Denver Broncos, will continue starting at the blind side until Brown gets back.
