The Philadelphia Eagles will induct former defensive coordinator Jim Johnson into the team's Honor Roll at halftime of Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
In 10 years with the Eagles, Johnson developed a reputation as one of the league's best defensive coordinators for his complex, blitz-heavy schemes. He died July 28, 2009.
"He's a legend here. Anyone who played with him, we knew what it took to be a great defense and he was a big part of that," cornerback Joselio Hanson told the Eagles' official website. "He held everybody accountable. He was hard on his players, but it paid off on Sunday."
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick remembered Johnson for stymieing him in the 2004 NFC Championship game. Vick was held to 136 passing yards, and the Eagles won 27-10.
"I can't think of another defensive coordinator of another team that I played against that I actually went into the game knowing that it was going to be one helluva game," Vick said on Friday.
