At this point, believe whatever you want about Tim Tebow's long-term status as the Broncos' starting quarterback.
Because trying to figure out what's going on inside the mind of team executive John Elway is simply maddening.
One day after definitively answering "no" when asked if he believed he was "any closer to feeling if you have your quarterback on this team," Elway responded Tuesday to his latest Tebow criticism by performing damage control for the umpteenth time.
"It’s a full body of work throughout the whole season," Elway said on the "Elway Live Podcast" on the Broncos' official website. "That’s where we are with Tim. We’re going to continue to look where he is. Like I’ve said, he continues to make progress week in and week out."
Elway later said the team is focused on the present more than anything, what with Tebow winning four of his five starts in lifting the Broncos to 5-5.
"We got ourselves back in the playoff hunt, so that's our concentration, to win football games and hopefully win the division and get into the playoffs," Elway said. "That's the focus right now."
If that's truly the case, then enough already with the Tebow criticism.
We. Can't. Take it anymore.
