A spokeswoman for the Cobb County sheriff's office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Andrews, 57, was arrested Thursday and was being held without bond Friday afternoon.
Andrews was jailed in Cobb County in 2004 for contempt of court after failing to pay child support, according to the newspaper. Andrews also spent much of 2006 in the DeKalb County Jail on theft charges in a loan fraud case.
Andrews came into the NFL in 1979 and rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons. He ran for a career-high 1,597 yards in 1983 before a knee injury cut his career short.
