Falcons WR Rondale Moore (knee) placed on injured reserve, out for season

Rondale Moore’s season is over.

Further medical evaluation revealed Moore suffered a season-ending knee injury in Wednesday’s practice, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Thursday. The Falcons then announced they had placed Moore on injured reserve.

The receiver suffered the knee injury during Atlanta’s joint practices with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, requiring a cart to remove him from the practice field. Moore’s injury prompted coaches to end the session early.

After three years spent with the Arizona Cardinals, Moore was traded to Atlanta in the offseason in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder. The Purdue product was preparing for his first season with the Falcons -- and the final year of his rookie deal -- when he suffered the season-ending injury.

The 5-foot-7 Moore figured to fit in as a smaller speedster alongside Drake London, Darnell Mooney and tight end Kyle Pitts with the goal of producing for the Falcons in a contract year. Instead, he’ll spend the rest of 2024 recovering from the unfortunate injury.
