You might have noticed there are six teams on bye this week. At this point in the season, when we are pushing for the fantasy playoffs -- yeah, that’s not great. But you’re going to be fine if you plan ahead. That is why I would implore you to look ahead to Week 14, when another six teams will have a bye -- the Broncos, Colts, Commanders, Patriots, Ravens and Texans. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Bo Nix, Nico Collins and Jayden Daniels, among others, will be off. Make sure you are preparing. Now, on to the rest of the notes.

  • It’s flying a bit under the radar, but De’Von Achane has been great this season. He’s had four games with at least 23 fantasy points. Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry and Joe Mixon are the only RBs with more such games, but I feel like Achane isn't being mentioned enough.
  • We have yet to see Christian McCaffrey be the same old Christian McCaffrey yet. He’s the fantasy RB10 in total points since he returned from injury two weeks ago. It’s a bit unsettling, but I’m not going to bench him this week against the Packers, especially with the success Chicago had running the football versus Green Bay last week.
  • I’m good with starting Jared Goff against the Colts this week (I know this is a flex column) along with all the Lions’ superstars, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has scored a touchdown in a club record eight consecutive games. An impressive streak when you consider the Lions have had Calvin Johnson, Herman Moore and Charlie Sanders.
  • Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler should be in your lineup this week heading into the Commanders’ matchup against the Cowboys. Dallas is allowing the fourth-most FPPG to running backs this season. I will say, it could be dicey -- fantasy points-wise -- for Jayden Daniels this week.
  • I’m not giving up on Texans receivers. It might be a different story with C.J. Stroud, although he’s not playing horribly because Houston is 7-4 and comfortably leads its division. You can’t blame Stroud when Joe Mixon scores three rushing touchdowns, but Nico Collins is the lone Texans pass catcher I’m starting.
  • Deebo Samuel has only one game with 19-plus fantasy points this season. This week the 49ers visit the Packers, who have allowed the 10th-fewest FPPG to wide receivers. I feel like this is more of a vibe play given the rivalry between these two teams, but I’m starting Samuel in traditional leagues.
  • Chuba Hubbard is still my guy for the Panthers. I’m not going to rush Jonathon Brooks into my lineup, even though he’s expected to make his NFL debut this week. Brooks is not CMC. Hubbard has been CMC-like for the Panthers this season. OK, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration. He’s averaged 22-plus fantasy points in games where he’s had at least 18 touches, though.
  • Why don’t the Chargers go to J.K. Dobbins more at the goal line? They finally relented on that fourth-down play against the Bengals on Sunday, but it’s wild that he doesn’t get more chances. This week the Chargers host the Ravens, who have allowed the third-most receiving yards to running backs this season.
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. has five-plus receptions in two of his last three games. I love his matchup this week against the Seahawks, who have allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers in the last four weeks.
  • CeeDee Lamb gave me the confidence on Monday night to continue putting him in my lineup, even with Dak Prescott out. I will take the 18.6 points he delivered against the Texans, and he has a plus matchup against the Commanders this week.

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba has 11-plus targets in two straight games and this week he’ll face the Cardinals, who have allowed .34 EPA per target to slot receivers this season, according to Next Gen Stats. That’s the sixth-most in the league. And yes, JSN has the highest slot route percentage in the NFL.
