Pondering some tough flex choices for your fantasy lineup? Adam Rank sorts through the running backs, receivers and tight ends to present his top 150 flex options each week for the 2024 fantasy football season, with some useful nuggets of analysis sprinkled in. The ranking is based on a 0.5 PPR scoring format.
NOTE: In a typical week, this ranking will be posted on Tuesday. Injury designations will be added, adjusted or removed as teams' official injury reports are made available. The following three designations will be reflected:
- (Q) -- Player is listed as questionable on his team’s official injury report.
- (D) -- Player is listed as doubtful on his team’s official injury report.
- (OUT) -- Player has been ruled out on his team's official injury report.

FLEX RANKINGS: 1-50
- Hey, look at Saquon Barkley! Just like we drew it up. His three scrimmage touchdowns against the Packers tied a career high. I’m telling you, when players go from struggling teams to championship-caliber ones, it is life-affirming. I don’t see him slowing down.
- Derrick Henry was fine in his debut with the Ravens. But we didn’t draft him to be fine. Fine is for the opening band of the band you’re there to see. Henry is a headliner. The good news is he has a great opportunity in Week 2 against the Raiders, who were smoked by J.K. Dobbins in Week 1.
- I’m curious to see if De’Von Achane takes firm control of the Dolphins’ RB1 job. Raheem Mostert had 29 scrimmage yards -- the fewest he’s ever had in a game he started -- on eight touches against the Jaguars. Meanwhile, Achane had 17 touches for 100 yards and a TD. Miami averaged just 3.2 yards per rush in Week 1 after leading the NFL with 5.1 in 2023. (EDITOR'S UPDATE: Mostert has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Bills with a chest injury, while Achane (ankle) could be a game-time decision, per head coach Mike McDaniel.)
- I was extremely bullish on Mike Evans with a great matchup in Week 1. He came through with five catches for 61 yards and two TDs against the Commanders. The big takeaway was Baker Mayfield targeted Evans three times in the red zone. He’s the Buccaneers’ go-to guy in that area.
- Cooper Kupp is back! I was high on him coming into the season, seeing the potential for a huge bounce-back year. He led all players with 14 receptions in Week 1. No one else had more than nine.
- There is no doubt many of you spent part of your Monday evening scrambling to get Jordan Mason on your fantasy roster after we learned Christian McCaffrey would be inactive. After running for 147 yards and a TD against the Jets in his first career start, Mason makes a pretty attractive target this week if McCaffrey misses a second straight game with his calf/Achilles injury. The rankings will be fluid this week as we continue to monitor the situation. You have to wonder if Mason has worked himself into a bigger role, even when McCaffrey does return. This is not what people were hoping for when they picked CMC 1.01. (EDITOR'S UPDATE: McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) is being placed on injured reserve and will miss the 49ers' next four games, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday.)
- Joe Mixon wasn’t drafted as an RB1 heading into this season, but he performed like one versus the Colts in Week 1. He had 30 rushing attempts and 178 scrimmage yards, the most by a Texans RB since Lamar Miller in 2016. His Week 2 matchup against the Bears isn’t too bad, given the success (94 scrimmage yards, TD) Tony Pollard had against Chicago in Week 1 -- at least in the first half.
- Alvin Kamara had five receptions on five targets in the Saints’ blowout of the Panthers. You kind of expect that from him. What I really loved was the 15 rushing attempts. I can get used to that.
- Drake London’s 2024 debut was worrisome, as he produced just 3.5 fantasy points against the Steelers (2 catches for 15 yards). Hey, he did play 100 percent of the snaps, so there’s that.
- I’m a bit worried about Michael Pittman, who was outside of the top 50 receivers with 7.1 points in Week 1. It’s a surprise to see him so low in the rankings, especially when Anthony Richardson was making some big plays. Pittman did have a team-high eight targets. That’s going to eventually translate into points.
- I’m not ready to be all J.K. Dobbins is a full-on RB1. However, he has a matchup against the Panthers in Week 2, so I see another tremendous opportunity for him. By the way, Panthers: What was that all about last week?
- Amari Cooper had the dubious distinction of becoming the first Browns player with at least nine targets and fewer than 20 receiving yards in a game since Jarvis Landry in 2018. He’s going to bounce back. Don’t be too scared off.
- Stefon Diggs had six targets in Week 1 versus the Colts, including three in the red zone. All of the other Texans players combined for only one such target. I was worried Diggs was going to be the odd person out in the Houston receiving corps, so I rode with Nico Collins, who logged six catches for 117 yards on eight targets against Indy. I’m curious to see how the opportunities for Texans receivers shake out against the Bears’ defense in Week 2.
FLEX RANKINGS: 51-100
- We saw Quentin Johnston have some moments in Week 1, but the Chargers receiver to roster is Ladd McConkey, who had five receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in his NFL debut. As I’ve said before, slot receivers feast in Greg Roman’s offense.
- Don’t overreact to Mark Andrews’ quiet Week 1 (2 catches for 14 yards). He still ran 28 routes (tied for seventh-most among tight ends). He played more snaps than Isaiah Likely. Remember, the Chiefs have done a nice job against him over the years.
- Speaking of tight ends to relax about, Evan Engram had just 1.5 fantasy points on four targets in Week 1. History has shown that Doug Pederson loves his tight ends, though. Engram is going to be fine.
- Jayden Reed was great against the Eagles in Brazil (171 scrimmage yards, 2 TDs) and made the most of his six targets. But I’m not sure how productive he’s going to be if Jordan Love is unable to go this week.
- Isaiah Likely had 26.1 fantasy points in the opener against the Chiefs, the most among TEs in Week 1. He had 12 targets, nine receptions and 111 yards. Plus, he scored a touchdown. Don’t forget about the touchdown. Is it sustainable? Probably not. But if you’re out a tight end this week, you might need him.
FLEX RANKINGS: 101-150
- Rashid Shaheed has fans on social media (including me). He’s good for pop plays and deep balls. He led the Saints with 73 receiving yards on five targets in a rout of Carolina. I’m not sure if he’s going to replace Chris Olave or anything like that, but don’t sleep on Shaheed.
