  • Saquon Barkley has three games with at least 26 fantasy points this season. He’s had 110-plus scrimmage yards in six of seven games this season -- that’s the most in the NFL. The Jaguars, who visit Barkley’s Eagles in Week 9, have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs this season.
  • I know we don’t really cover quarterbacks in this space, but I’m worried about C.J. Stroud. Nico Collins is out with a hamstring injury and Stefon Diggs will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Stroud has thrown multiple touchdown passes just twice in his last seven games. He’s topped 19 fantasy points only once this season. Texans players are a tough start in fantasy against the Jets this week, although Joe Mixon might be the exception. He’s gained 120-plus yards from scrimmage in four of the five games he’s played this season.
  • Ja’Marr Chase has seven receiving touchdowns this season. He’s spread those out over five games, which shows his consistency. The Bengals play the Raiders this week. So, Chase has a great chance to be the fantasy WR1 this week, yeah?
  • I’m starting to grow weary of Breece Hall. He has only one touchdown in the last five games after scoring three times in the first three games. The Texans, the Jets’ Week 9 nine opponent, have allowed the fourth-fewest FPPG to running backs this season.
  • One of my friends sent me a text thanking me for recommending De’Von Achane. Uh, that was one of the obvious ones, dude. We talk a lot about how Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are so much more productive with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback. Well, don’t overlook Tua’s impact on Achane. He’s averaging 25-plus points in games with Tua this season and less than 10 in games played without the QB1. Tua is back and Achane has a great history against Buffalo -- Miami's Week 9 opponent -- with four touchdowns in three career games versus the Bills, who have allowed the second-most FPPG to RBs this season.
  • Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp had 17 targets between them in their Week 8 return from injuries. I know you might be holding on to one of the other Rams receivers. You don’t need them. You’re probably looking at Demarcus Robinson and being all, but he had two touchdowns against the Vikings. Well, that’s not sustainable. Just start Nacua or Kupp. That’s it.
  • Davante Adams has scored fewer than 11 fantasy points in four of the five games he’s played this season. That’s a huge bummer because I was really high on him coming into the year. But my guy Garrett Wilson -- who I also liked entering 2024 -- has at least 16 points in three of his last four and he’s seen at least eight targets in six straight.
  • I have been downgrading Chuba Hubbard lately. His fantasy production has decreased in five consecutive games. He hasn’t had any goal-line rush attempts in the last four games, per Next Gen Stats. He had four such attempts in Week 4.
  • One of my favorite players in fantasy this season -- no, not Zamir White, wisecracker -- has been Brian Thomas Jr. I was on board with him in my mock draft with a twist back in April. I loved the fit in Jacksonville and he's off to an amazing start. Unfortunately, he’s now battling a chest injury and is day to day, per Jaguars coach Doug Pederson. The Jags have already lost Christian Kirk for the season and now Thomas’ status is in question. Where is the production going to come from this week against the Eagles? Evan Engram is a huge option. I hope Travis Etienne is closer to returning.
  • I know Jaylen Waddle was supposed to be a huge play last week. It didn’t work out, and he hasn’t scored more than nine fantasy points in a game since Week 1. Don’t remind me of the trade proposal I turned down last week. I’m still looking for better production from him this week against the Bills.
  • Amari Cooper had just two targets last week and it seems like it’s going to take a bit of time for him to get acclimated with Josh Allen, but it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.

  • Calvin Ridley spoke up, and now he’s coming off a 15-target game. I’m not sure that’s sustainable, but I’m starting him in most instances. Seriously, 15 targets. That’s incredible.
  • Bo Nix threw three touchdown passes last week, but none of them went to Courtland Sutton. Good news: He had eight catches for 100 yards on 11 targets. You can safely start him again.
  • I really need the Bears to regroup this week. I’m not going to be like a lot of Bears fans, ignoring a month of great football after one bad week following the bye. Give the Bears one more chance, especially Cole Kmet. He’s going to have a huge game against the Cardinals.
