Steelers running back Fitzgerald Toussaint doesn't want his name synonymous with the word fumble anymore.
Back in the 2015 playoffs against the Denver Broncos, the Steelers ahead 13-12 with 10 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Toussaint was hit by Broncos corner Bradley Roby causing the ball to skid back in the other direction. It was eventually recovered by DeMarcus Ware.
The Broncos scored seven minutes later and, in an admirable move, Toussaint took the loss squarely on his shoulders during post-game interviews.
Now, he's ready to forget it ever happened.
"That (fumble) doesn't define me as a player nor does it define me as a person," Toussaint said, via TribLive.com. "It was difficult situation, but not just for me but for the team because I know how hard they worked before I even got here. I am working to put myself in that position never to do that again."
People will forget that Toussaint was clutch in his relief appearances throughout the playoffs to that point -- he logged 118 total yards against the Bengals in the Wild Card game and scored a touchdown early against the Broncos -- and with Le'Veon Bell's health always an uncertainty it may be worth remembering.
There's a chance Pittsburgh needs Toussaint again at some point even if DeAngelo Williams is healthy enough to be the backup.
