Fans flying in for the Super Bowl on Sunday are finding a thick blanket of fog in their way.
The cloudy gloom draping the city is delaying flights into Phoenix, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported. The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is averaging a 103-minute delay due to low visibility, according the FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.
The conditions are improving and the FAA expects maximum arrival rate in by 12 p.m. local time, per Rapoport. So hopefully all those who are trying to get into town prior to the game's 6:30 p.m. ET kick off make it to the stadium on time.
Rich Eisen on NFL Network's GameDay Morning added that the NFL plans on opening the roof at University of Phoenix Stadium for tonight's game.
