Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III all but confirmed his intentions for the 2016 NFL Draft early last month, and on Monday, he made it official.
Hargreaves, a junior, announced via Instagram that he will apply for early draft eligibility. He was ranked No. 1 among CFB's defensive backs by NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein heading into the season.
Underclassmen have until a Jan. 18 deadline to apply for early draft eligibility.
In 2015, Hargreaves became Florida's first consensus All-American since cornerback Joe Haden, a first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He tied for the team lead with four interceptions this season, and he's been recognized as a top talent since his freshman year, when he started the final 10 games of the season.
He joins RB Kelvin Taylor and DE Alex McCAlister as Gators underclassmen that have declared for the draft. Florida coach Jim McElwain said last month that wide receiver Demarcus Robinson would also apply for early eligibility, but a tweet from Robinson left his intentions unclear.
