Former Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow signing with Panthers

After taking a year off from the NFL, veteran wide receiver Hunter Renfrow has found a new home.

The former Las Vegas Raiders wideout is signing with the Carolina Panthers, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Sunday, per sources. The team later announced the move.

Hunter, 29, was a fifth-round pick out of Clemson in the 2019 NFL Draft and became a quick contributor for the Raiders. In his first three seasons, Renfrow developed into a crafty slot receiver and made the Pro Bowl in 2021. However, Renfrow fell in the depth chart the following season under former Las Vegas head coach Josh McDaniels. With limited snaps and plays in the last couple of seasons, Renfrow was released by the Raiders following the 2023 season.

Renfrow finished his Raiders tenure with 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns in 73 games.

The Panthers are hoping Renfrow can help Bryce Young as the young quarterback enters his third NFL season. Carolina did its best to support Young in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with No. 8 overall pick.

Carolina adds a savvy veteran in Renfrow to its WR corps led by Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker.
