Game-winning drive nets Ravens' Flacco Moment of the Week

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco's engineering of a last-minute touchdown drive is the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week for games played on Nov. 6-7, the NFL announced Friday. The GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week is the best moment or play of the week that represents determination and perseverance.

After the regular season, fans will have a chance to determine the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Year, from among the 17 weekly winners. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.

NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT NOMINEES

Patrick Peterson, Arizona Cardinals

Peterson redeems himself with historic return: After a Week 1 win, the Arizona Cardinals' season had hit the skids, with the team riding a six-game losing streak heading into Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. A fourth-quarter pass interference call on Peterson set St. Louis kicker Josh Brown up for a potential winning kick that would send Arizona to a seventh straight loss. Instead, Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell stepped in with a crucial play, blocking the attempt and sending the game to overtime. In the extra period, Peterson earned redemption when he returned a Rams' punt 99 yards for just the second punt return for a game-winning touchdown in overtime in league history.

Eli Manning, New York Giants

QB leads another late-game drive to beat Patriots: In the first meeting between the New York Giants and New England Patriots since Super Bowl XLII, Manning helped produce a conclusion eerily similar to that fateful Sunday in Glendale, Ariz. Trailing 20-17 with less than two minutes remaining, Manning drove the Giants down the field, going 80 yards in 1:21 and capping the drive with a one-yard touchdown play to tight end Jake Ballard with 15 seconds left. The 24-20 victory moved the Giants to 6-2, as New York remains atop the NFC East.

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

Late-game heroics lead to sweep of Steelers: The embattled Flacco struggled during Sunday's tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but with his team trailing 20-16 with a bit more than two minutes remaining in the game, Flacco put together a scoring drive during which he overcame a few ill-timed drops to deliver the game-winning touchdown strike to rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith, who three plays prior to the score had mishandled a potential touchdown pass. The Flacco-to-Smith connection with eight seconds left gave Baltimore a 23-20 win and completed a sweep of their bitter rivals.
