Representatives from all 32 NFL teams -- including New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles, New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese, and Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Dan Quinn -- were present for Georgia's pro day on Wednesday.
The workout was held outdoors and run on FieldTurf. A total of 17 prospects participated in the event, which was very well-organized by new head coach Kirby Smart and his staff. The NFL personnel on hand for the pro day came away impressed.
The main attraction was linebacker Leonard Floyd -- 6-foot-5 3/4, 248 pounds -- had a 35-inch vertical jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.32 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.18 seconds, which are very good numbers. Unfortunately, Floyd couldn't complete his workout because he was suffering from food poisoning.
Offensive tackle John Theus -- 6-6 1/2, 313 -- performed 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Theus had a good-plus workout.
Long snapper Nathan Theus -- 6-2 5/8, 243 -- ran the 40-yard dash in 4.9 and 4.96 seconds. He had a 4.55-second short shuttle and 7.57-second three-cone drill. He also had 15 reps on the bench. Theus is the brother of John Theus, and is a very good long snapper. He did not have one bad snap in four years at Georgia. He is a priority free-agent pickup possibility for a team following the draft.
Running back Keith Marshall -- 5-11 3/8, 218 -- did the short shuttle in 4.25 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.98 seconds. He caught the ball well. Marshall is a bit of a straight-line runner (he did put that long speed on display by posting the fastest 40 at the combine).
Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell -- 6-0, 197 -- stood on his combine numbers. He's a very athletic guy and worked out well at the pro day.
Defensive end Sterling Bailey -- 6-3 7/8, 281 -- ran the 40 in 4.9 and 4.95 seconds. He had a 30 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-8 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.58 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.39 seconds. He worked out good as a defensive lineman.
Defensive tackle Chris Mayes -- 6-3 3/8, 349 -- ran the 40 in 5.2 and 5.24 seconds. He had a really good workout for a guy his size. Mayes was an outstanding high school basketball player (he averaged 20 points and rebounds as a senior). The biggest problem on the football field for Mayes is that he plays too high. It is really hard to get a guy who plays high to also play low, and that just neutralizes their size.
Outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins -- 6-2 3/4, 257 -- ran the 40 in 4.8 and 4.77 seconds. He had a 38-inch vertical and 10-foot-3 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.32 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.41 seconds. Jenkins had a really good pro day workout and helped his draft status.
Fullback Quayvon Hicks had a knee operation on Jan. 8 and wasn't able to participate in the pro day.
