Giants hope recovering DE Tuck, RB Jacobs can play vs. 'Fins

The New York Giants have been beset with injuries more than almost any other NFL team this season. So after a welcomed bye week, it appears the Giants are the healthiest they've been all season.

The news Monday especially was key as three starters -- defensive end Justin Tuck (neck/groin), right guard Chris Snee (concussion) and running back Brandon Jacobs (sprained knee) -- all returned to practice, according to the New York Daily News. Fullback Henry Hynoski (neck/burner) and safety Kenny Phillips (ribs) also were on the field, and rookie cornerback Prince Amukamara (foot) and wide receiver Ramses Barden (ankle) did some individual work during the beginning of practice.

Tuck has played in just two games this season and hasn't been on the field since a Sept. 25 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He told ESPN New York that he expects to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Jacobs has missed two consecutive games as well, and the Giants hope he also will make a Week 8 return.

For Barden, who's on the physically unable to perform list, Monday marked the beginning of the three-week period in which the Giants must decide either to add him to their active roster or to place him on season-ending injured reserve. Barden told the Daily News that his body feels good, but more so, he was just happy to be back on the field.

"People always say a kid in a candy store," Barden said. "I felt like I was in a bank vault with no security cameras."
