Gimme 5: 2009 non-playoff teams primed for 2010 postseason?

4. Miami Dolphins

This Dolphins team is a quiet, no-frills group that goes unnoticed with all the fanfare surrounding the Jets and the great Tom Brady up in New England. They did go 4-2 in the division last year, and the addition of Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby changes things on both sides of the ball.

Last year, Miami was 7-6 and in control of its own destiny until an overtime loss to Tennessee started a three-game losing streak to end the season. There is no doubt my camp visit to South Florida is the main reason this team made my list. They looked like a solid football team that will not beat itself. The Dolphins' schedule suggests 8-8 is where they are headed, but a strong finish rather than the fizzle-out they had last year could mean a playoff berth.
