NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT NOMINEES
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Rodgers' fourth-down TD puts Packers in playoffs: Facing a fourth-and-8 at the Chicago Bears' 48-yard line with 38 seconds remaining, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hit receiver Randall Cobb for a 48-yard touchdown play that helped the Packers capture the NFC North crown. Rodgers had missed seven games with a broken collarbone and Cobb had missed the previous 10 games with a knee injury.
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Chargers work overtime to claim AFC's final playoff spot: Quarterback Philip Rivers guided the San Diego Chargers into position for kicker Nick Novak's game-winning 36-yard field goal in overtime to earn a 27-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The drive to claim the AFC's sixth and final playoff spot included a successful fourth-down conversion on a fake punt on a 2-yard gain by Eric Weddle. The Chargers had trailed by 10 in the fourth quarter, but Rivers connected with receiver Eddie Royal for a touchdown and Novak kicked a 22-yard field goal late in the game to tie it.
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Panthers rally from 10 down to get division-clinching win: The Atlanta Falcons sprinted out to a 10-0 lead on the visiting Carolina Panthers, but quarterback Cam Newton threw two touchdown passes to help the Panthers earn a 21-20 win. That victory gave Carolina its first division title since 2008 and also earned the team the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
