Jerry Gray, a top candidate to become the Titans' new defensive coordinator, arrived in Tennessee on Friday to begin the interview process, and is scheduled to continue meeting with coach Mike Munchak and team officials on Saturday, according to a league source.
Frank Bush is a strong candidate to join Gray's staff should he take the Titans job -- Gray joined the staff at the University of Texas just a few weeks ago -- and the Titans are also scheduled to speak to Auburn defensive line coach Tracy Rocker about their vacant line job, which opened when Jim Washburn left for Philadelphia.
Munchak was announced as Jeff Fisher's replacement on Monday, and has spent the week shaping the staff that will work beside him in 2011. He fired offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and two other assistants on Tuesday and hired friend and former teammate Bruce Matthews to coach the offensive line on Thursday. Matthews had agreed to, but not signed, a two-year contract with the Houston Texans.
Munchak was also forced to cross a possible offensive coordinator off his list when the Jets denied the Titans the chance to interview Bill Callahan, the former Oakland Raiders coach who currently serves as New York's offensive line coach.
