The Green Bay Packers are expecting an extra, um, lively crowd for Saturday's night wild-card game against the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings. So much so that alcohol sales at Lambeau Field will be cut off at the beginning of the third quarter. The normal cut-off time is the beginning of the fourth quarter.
The Packers announced the change Thursday.
"Night games previously have presented us with more challenges than normal with regard to inappropriate behavior," Lambeau security chief Doug Collins said in a statement, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "We are asking fans to enjoy the game responsibly and also help us out by reporting poor conduct to stadium and law enforcement personnel, either in person, or by text at the number posted in the stadium."
Nothing about this is a surprise. The tailgating will begin Saturday morning for a 8 p.m. ET kickoff. Lambeau will be rowdy.
