Much of that depends on whether he'll be capable of taking part in Friday's practice with minimal pain as he continues to recover from right foot and left knee injuries. One thing is for sure -- his confidence isn't wounded.
"We all know what I can bring to the table when I'm out there," Nicks said, according to the New York Daily News. Right now it's just a matter of making sure I'm able to compete at the highest level when I'm out there. It's just a matter of me taking care of my body.
"(Friday) will be the defining day."
Nicks was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, and said he plans to push himself a little more Friday to see if he's in game shape. The 24-year-old has sat out the Giants' last three games, but is wary of returning too soon.
"It's just a matter of knowing you've got to be patient," he told the New York Daily News. "I can't say that enough. It's a long season. If you try to rush it now, force it now you could have a major setback and miss the whole season."
