Coming off a torn ACL, Melton met with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday after spending time with the Seattle Seahawks last week.
Melton will also be dealing with a reportedly bizarre bar arrest this offseason.
Much like the Seahawks, the Rams already have a solid defensive line, including the interior with Michael Brockers and Kendall Langford. However, if Melton is healthy, adding him to outside rushers Robert Quinn and Chris Long would be an upgrade.
Melton's knee checked out fine during his visit in Dallas, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill reported. The Cowboys believe the defensive tackle is on pace to be ready by the time the season starts.
Dallas remains the team with the biggest need for Melton's services, but the young, productive defender can take his time and decide his best fit.
