Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones could miss up to four weeks with an ankle injury, according to The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill, who delivered the news on Monday's edition of "Around the League."
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told reporters later Monday that Jones suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday's 20-16 loss to the New England Patriots. The injury occurred late in the second quarter, forcing Jones to miss the rest of the game.
Jones has started all five games for Dallas, rushing for 255 yards (4.0-yard average) and one touchdown.
Jones' injury could change the thinking of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who said Sunday night that he had been fielding phone calls to trade away running back Tashard Choice.
