The Washington Redskins' Su'a Cravens, Miami Dolphins' Jay Ajayi, Baltimore Ravens' Justin Tucker, Indianapolis Colts' T.Y. Hilton and the Los Angeles Rams' Robert Quinn each had the strength to come through during a key moment and contribute to big wins during Week 3.
Thanks to those strong performances, each player is up for Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week honors. This is a deeper look at the significance of those conquests.
Su'a Cravens, Washington Redskins
Strong stats to consider:
» This marks the first Redskins win on the road against the New York Giants since 2011.
» There were five lead changes in this contest, all in the second half. The Giants were ahead the entire first half.
Power of the moment: Battling a division rival and on the brink of starting the season 0-3, Washington fought through red zone inefficiency and injuries to pull ahead in the forth. On the Giants' final drive, Cravens came down with the game-sealing interception to get the team in the win column.
Jay Ajayi, Miami Dolphins
Strong stats to consider:
» Until Sunday, Miami had not defeated the Cleveland Browns since 2004.
» The last time the Dolphins started 1-2 and made the playoffs was 2008. they started 0-2 and finished that season 11-5. It's also the last time the Dolphins made the playoffs.
Power of the moment: Miami almost gave away the game with a fumble with just 26 seconds left in regulation. The Browns missed a 46-yard field goal and the game went into overtime. The Dolphins ground game was held mostly in check, until Ajayi cut up the sideline untouched for the game-winning touchdown in OT.
Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Strong stats to consider:
» The Jacksonville Jaguars defense allowed 21 consecutive completions by Joe Flacco during the game. It's the most completions ever allowed by the Jags.
» The traded interceptions on three consecutive possessions.
Power of the moment: With a 17-16 lead in the forth quarter, the Jags had a field goal blocked. The following possession, the Ravens set up Tucker with a 54-yard field goal with just 1:02 left in the game. Tucker nailed the kick with leg to spare and went 4-4 on the game. The Ravens are not 3-0 and on top of the AFC North.
T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts
Strong stats to consider:
» Hilton is an explosive wide receiver. It's hard to imagine, but this is his first TD in eight games.
» Hilton's TD also capped off Andrew Luck's 11th career fourth quarter comeback.
Power of the moment: With just 1:28 left, Luck finds Hilton after a cut towards the inside. Hilton then spun away from a tackle and cuts toward the sideline to stall San Diego Chargers' DB Adrian Phillips. After than, Hilton turned on the jets he's known for and sealed the game for the Colts.
Robert Quinn, Los Angeles Rams
Strong stats to consider:
» The Rams have defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in each of their last five matchups.
» After failing to score a TD in their first two games, the Rams now lead the NFC West. Dating back to Week 14 of 2015, the Rams have won five of their last seven.
Power of the moment: Fighting his way to get to Jameis Winston, Quinn pushed in to collapse the pocket. While not able to bring down Winston, Quinn is able to strip the ball from the Bucs' QB and it's returned for a TD by Ethan Westbrook.
