Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylorhas had a few scraps with one of the Steelers' wide receivers this summer, but he's also helping the team's top wideout get ready for the 2012 season.
Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Wednesday that Mike Wallace is staying in Taylor's house and driving Taylor's car while he works out with a trainer in the Orlando area.
Wallace is expected to return to the fold before the start of the regular season. When that does happen, Taylor expects there to be no issues between the Pro Bowl receiver and the players who have been there throughout the Steelers' offseason program and training camp.
"He's working out," Taylor said. "He's working hard. Whenever he gets back, we're going to welcome him back with open arms. Mike is taking care of Mike right now. As long as he is working out and getting in football shape, that's all that matters."
Taylor already has missed on one Wallace-based prediction, saying in June that the wideout would be in training camp, which the Steelers are scheduled to break Friday. Players understand that this is a business, so Wallace likely will be welcomed back when he returns, particularly by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
