Colts All-Pro tight end Dallas Clark told *The Indianapolis Star* that he is making progress in his recovery from an undisclosed left leg injury and expects to be in the starting lineup for the Sept. 12 season opener against the Houston Texans.
"The good thing is it's making improvement and, worst-case scenario, I'll definitely be there for Week 1," Clark said Monday. "That's a reassuring thing."
Clark hasn't practiced since sustaining the injury during a training-camp drill Aug. 13.
Clark is coming off his most productive NFL season, one in which he shared the team lead in receptions (100, with Reggie Wayne) and touchdowns (10, with Joseph Addai). Clark's 1,106 receiving yards were second on the team to Wayne.
