Injury roundup: WR Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) likely to play Sunday vs. Eagles barring setback

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Tank Bigsby (ankle) and Travis Etienne (hamstring) are both likely to play Sunday against the Eagles barring a setback, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

Rapoport added that promising rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is also likely to play through his chest injury unless a setback occurs, but wideout Gabe Davis is considered more of a longshot as he deals with a shoulder issue.

Etienne, Jacksonville's bell-cow RB in years past, has missed the previous two contests after injuring his hamstring early in the team's Week 6 loss to the Chicago Bears. Through five games and a little over a quarter of that sixth outing, the fourth-year pro has 321 yards and two touchdowns on 72 touches.

He's ceded snaps to the tough-running Bigsby, who doesn't pose nearly the same threat through the air with only three catches but has emerged as another backfield option by grinding out 493 yards and four scores on his 85 rushing attempts. If both avoid pregame issues, they can resume as a dangerous duo for the Jags.

Thomas being in the same boat is a major boon to a Jacksonville offense that ranks middle of the pack at 16th in passing yards but just lost Christian Kirk for the year due to a fractured collarbone.

The rookie has been a quick study in Duval and is the team's leader across the board with 33 receptions, 573 yards and five TDs. He could field a few more deeper targets if Davis does end up missing, but he can regardless be expected to contribute at all levels in joining with tight end Evan Engram to lead the air game versus Philadelphia.

The Jaguars (2-6) will aim for an upset to keep hope alive against the Eagles (5-2) at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday.
