Jacoby Jones not only brought joy to Baltimore Ravens fans across the country Sunday night, he also gave away some furniture.
If the Ravens returned a kick for a touchdown to open the game or after halftime, the company would refund all purchases between Jan. 31 and 3 p.m. the day of Super Bowl XLVII. That's just one opportunity for the entire game.
Gardner Furniture in Baltimore has run a Super Bowl promotion for three years, The Baltimore Sun reported.
Jones set the NFL playoff record with a 108-yard kickoff return to open the second half. The play was so dynamic, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome lights went off. It tied the NFL record for the longest kickoff return in any game and was the longest scoring play in Super Bowl history.
Anyone with a stamped sales order from that period receives a full credit. The store expects the monetary value to be $600,000, according to advertising and marketing manager Kasee Lehrl. The store took out an insurance policy just in case.
That's a lot of dough. Someone should at least invite Jones over for a sit.
