Julius Thomas wasn't the only key member of the Jaguars to sustain a significant hand injury on Friday.
Jaguars coach Gus Bradley announced Saturday that strong safety Johnathan Cyprien will miss the rest of the preseason after sustaining a fractured finger in his right hand during Friday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to The Florida Times-Union.
Bradley said that Cyprien will not need surgery and the expectation is that he'll be ready for the start of the regular season.
The injuries sustained by Thomas and Cyprien are similar in timetable, but different in nature. The Jaguars said Cyprien has a clear finger break, while Thomas has a fracture on the top of his hand. Josh Evans and Craig Loston will both be in the mix for added snaps until Cyprien is healthy enough to return.
Cyprien, 25, finished 84th out of 170 qualified safeties in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.
