The Tennessee Titans have made noise in the AFC South, but they're currently riding a two-game losing streak in Jake Locker's absence.
Locker practiced for the third straight day Friday. He took the majority of reps in the individual drills, "easily more than Ryan Fitzpatrick," The Tennessean reported.
The Titans starting quarterback has been sidelined by the sprained knee and hip he suffered against the New York Jetson Sept. 29, which left the underwhelming Fitzpatrick to man the controls. Titans coach Mike Munchak hasn't ruled out Locker returning to the lineup Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
"He can play," Munchak said Thursday, per The Tennessean. "It is just a matter of ... is he quite ready? There is no doubt the more you rest, the more you take off, the stronger your (knee) is going to feel. But it doesn't mean you can't play in the meantime."
We don't expect the Titans to unveil Locker with Tennessee's bye week coming up next. He's a good bet to play in Week 9 against the St. Louis Rams, which probably was the plan all along.
