The Denver Broncos spent years trying to stop Jamaal Charles. Now they might join forces.
The past two seasons for Charles have been swept away by injuries. He tore his right ACL in 2015, before having his right meniscus operated on last November. Charles then went under the knife for a minor procedure on his left knee while still mending the right one.
A recent workout video showed the 30-year-old back cutting laterally with a fair bit of quickness, but it's unclear if Charles will ever return to his previous heights athletically.
In Denver, Charles would have a legitimate chance at snaps in a backfield led by C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker. Once healthy, this is a player who can still cause plenty of problems for opposing defenses.
The pairing would also add juice to a Chiefs-Broncos rivalry that sits out there as one of the best in the NFL. We'll find out soon enough if Denver sees a match with the runner it once considered an arch enemy.
