Jameis Winston throws three TD passes in Florida State win

Yes, Florida State redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston is human. He proved it Saturday against North Carolina State by going 5 of 13 for 63 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the final three quarters of FSU's win.

The problem for NC State is that Winston basically was superhuman in the first quarter, going 11 of 13 for 229 yards and three TDs as the Seminoles built a 35-0 lead and cruised from there in a 49-17 rout. FSU scored TDs on all five of its first-quarter possessions.

Winston hit his first seven passes for 128 yards and a TD. His first incompletion was followed by his second TD pass, and his last attempt of the quarter was his third TD pass. He didn't play after FSU's first possession of the second half, but FSU already had set a school record by scoring 40 points in seven consecutive games.

Winston now has thrown for 2,340 yards, 23 touchdowns and four interceptions, and is completing 67.9 percent of his attempts. His TD total matches that of former Florida State QB E.J. Manuel last season. Manuel was a first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in this year's draft.

Manuel's favorite receiver was junior Rashad Greene, who had eight receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown Saturday. It was Greene's third 100-yard game in a row and his fourth of the season. Greene now has eight TDs this season and 21 in his career.
