Kansas City Chiefs linebacker James-Michael Johnson is helping make sure struggling families can celebrate Thanksgiving with a turkey dinner.
The linebacker is assisting Mission Solano, a homeless shelter from his hometown of Fairfield, Calif., by donating money to replace 300 stolen turkeys, according to KCTV-TV in Kansas City.
"I figured I am in a situation where I can help, where I can give back, so that is something I wanted to do," Johnson said.
Johnson was a fourth-round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2012 and was picked up by the Chiefs prior to the 2013 season.
What is the world devolving to when people steal turkeys from a homeless shelter?
Props to Johnson for stepping up to the plate to help feed people in need.
