Former NFL player and Dallas Cowboys assistant coach Jerry Tubbs died at the age of 77, the University of Oklahoma said Friday.
Tubbs played 10 seasons in the NFL and spent 22 years as an assistant to Tom Landry with the Cowboys, according to the Tulsa World.
Tubbs received the Walter Camp Award in 1956, becoming the first Sooner to earn the honor. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996.
