New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is scheduled to open Sunday's game matched up against Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, despite a 6-inch height disadvantage, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The Jets also have packages in place for cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who's 6-foot-2, to man up on the 6-5 Johnson, and they could alternate coverages in the game, a tactic they have used on bigger receivers this season.
Revis, an All-Pro who's listed at 5-11, has played in the Jets' last three games after missing two because of a hamstring injury.
Johnson leads the Lions this season with 38 receptions for 538 yards and eight touchdowns.
