Super Bowl XLVII hero Jacoby Jones appeared on "NFL AM" on Thursday morning to accept his "Dancing with the Starters" champion award. Quality television ensued, underscored by Jones' obvious respect for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. Here are the highlights:
» Asked if Flacco deserves to be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, Jones replied, "Why not? Look what he's done. That man's been to the playoffs since he was a rookie. He's got a lot more he's going to accomplish, too. This man's going to be a legend."
» If Jones believes he deserves his own payday as a Super Bowl MVP candidate, he's not showing his hand. "Nah, man, I just play my role," Jones said. "Joe deserved that MVP. That man threw 11 touchdowns, no picks. I just play football. When they come up and offer more money, I'll just say, 'Thank you.' "
» Queried about his much-derided tattoo featuring a cartoonish Raven, Jones quipped, "It's sweet, ain't it?" He wasn't alone. Jones' mom got a heart tattoo with the number 12 on it. "She got her first tattoo at the age of 57."
» Jones on Twitter: "It's not for me, man. ... I'm not about to be thumb-wrastlin' with y'all out there."
» Perhaps the best answer came when Jones was asked whether Darrelle Revis or Richard Sherman was the best cornerback in the league on the heels of Wednesday's Twitter war. "Listen, you ever see two lions fighting over a piece of meat in the jungle?" Jones asked. "Would you try to get between them and take it from them? No, I'm not getting in the middle of that one."
