Houston looked like the perfect landing spot for former Redskins quarterback John Beck because he knows the Texans' offensive system so well.
That could prove to be true in the long run, but for now Beck looks like a long shot to even make the team. The No. 3 slot is slated to go to undrafted former University of Houston product Case Keenum.
"Keenum would have to blow up to not claim the No. 3 job, but it's a plus to have the journeyman Beck prodding from behind," Dale Robertson of the Houston Chronicle writes.
The NFL is a rough business. One year, you are the favorite to be a starting quarterback under a noted quarterback guru in Washington. The next year you aren't expected to beat out an undrafted free agent for a roster spot.
