The player to replace recently-releasedPro Bowl guard Evan Mathis on the Eagles' offensive line is one who recently came out of retirement.
Moffitt announced earlier this month that he was attempting a return to the NFL after two years away from the game.
"I have never been so proud of a guy I've trained than I am of John Moffitt," FOX Sports' Jay Glazer wrote in June. "Retired two years ago (because) he knew he had drug issues, took time to go to rehab, clean up his life, beat his demons and he has taken his life back! Guy inspires us every day."
Moffitt started 15 games over two years in Seattle before a 2013 trade to Denver.
If he lasts deep into training camp with the Eagles, he will be competing with Andrew Gardner, Dennis Kelly and Kevin Graf for the opportunity to replace Mathis in the starting lineup.
