A public "Celebration of Life" event will be held that evening at Qualcomm Stadium at 6:30 p.m. PT where several speakers are scheduled to share stories and memories of the 20-year NFL veteran linebacker.
Among those scheduled to speak are former San Diego Chargers stars Dan Fouts, Rodney Harrison and LaDainian Tomlinson, as well as former Chargers coach Bobby Ross and former NFL safety John Lynch.
Harrison and Tomlinson were teammates of Seau's with the Chargers while Ross coached Seau from 1992 to 1996.
The master of ceremonies will be Miles McPherson, a former Chargers safety who's now the senior pastor at the Rock Church in San Diego.
A private viewing for friends and family will take place on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the chapel.
The former San Diego Charger will then be buried at Eternal Hills Memorial Park after the funeral service on Friday.
Seau died last week of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Oceanside home and his death has sparked discussions about how concussions impact players after they retire.
Cincinnati Bengals guard Jacob Bell announced his sudden retirement only a month after joining the team citing Seau's suicide.
