Kelvin Benjamin practices for first time since ACL tear

The Carolina Panthers' No. 1 receiver participated in on-field workouts for the first time since tearing his ACL during last year's training camp in August.

Because Bradford has missed the majority of the past two seasons and will have to compete to keep his starting job, the Rams have pressured him to accept a reduction in his $13 million salary that counts $16.6 million against the salary cap in the contract's final year.

The Panthers likely will ease in the 6-foot-5 receiver as the offseason progresses.

Benjamin amassed 1,008 receiving yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie. He was poised for an even bigger role before suffering the injury last year.

Most analysts and fans believed Benjamin's injury would destroy the Panthers' offense in 2015. Instead, Cam Newton put up an MVP season.

Benjamin will rejoin tight end Greg Olsen to provide Newton two massive targets. If Devin Funchess improves in his second season, the Panthers' passing attack could be among the most potent in the NFC.
