San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt will have his attention divided leading up to Sunday's Divisional Round Weekend showdown with the Denver Broncos.
A source informed of the coach's schedule has told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that Whisenhunt has three interviews scheduled for the next three days.
Per Rapoport, Whisenhunt met with the Detroit Lions on Thursday, followed by an interview with the Tennessee Titans on Friday and the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. Whiz is viewed as the favorite in Detroit, but he's not officially allowed to accept any job while the Chargers are in the playoffs.
It's interesting to note the dichotomy between the two offensive bosses in this week's matchup. Whereas Broncos coordinator Adam Gase has postponed all interview requests until his season is over, Whisenhunt has three interviews planned in as many days leading up to the big game -- even if all three teams are flying in to meet with the Chargers assistant.
Whisenhunt has made it clear that he's not distracted by the interview process and that "everything else is secondary" to his prepartion for Sunday's game.
Friday afternoons and Saturdays are down times in the weekly NFL game-planning schedule. There's little reason to believe that Whisenhunt's time away will give the Broncos a competitive advantage.
