After three years at Georgia, linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti is returning to the NFL ranks with the Washington Redskins, where he coached from 2000-2010, according to macon.com.
Olivadotti declined comment, but the news was also confirmed by the Washington Post.
While at Georgia, Olivadotti's top linebacker was St. Louis Rams first-round draft pick Alec Ogletree, who enjoyed a big rookie season with the Rams (117 tackles, six forced fumbles).
Georgia coach Mark Richt was apparently caught off-guard by the move, saying earlier this week that he had no indication that either Olivadotti or defensive line coach Chris Wilson were looking to make a move. Wilson, meanwhile, appears headed to Southern Cal. Richt just replaced defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, who went to Louisville, with Jeremy Pruitt, who was FSU's defensive coordinator for just one season.
