Less than a year after nearly 78,000 packed Lambeau Field not for a Packers game, but for Wisconsin's 16-14 win over LSU, the fabled venue has been secured for more college action, as has Chicago's Soldier Field.
Wisconsin will play Notre Dame in a two-year series, the schools announced, with Lambeau hosting the powerhouse programs on Oct. 3, 2020, and Soldier Field serving as host on Sept. 25, 2021.
"It wasn't long after the LSU game at Lambeau -- that went so well and was such a good experience for our team -- that we had conversations with (Packers president) Mark Murphy and the folks up there that, 'Hey, we should do this again,'" said UW Associate Athletic Director Jeff Schmidt. "Things started to ramp up from there."
Notre Dame is 8-6-2 in 16 meetings with the Badgers, and the schools haven't met since 1964.
