The 2015 season is all but lost for Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy.
Coach Jim Caldwell announced Wednesday that Levy is headed to surgery to repair his injured hip. A decision will be made in two to three weeks on whether he will head to injured reserve or play the final few games of the season, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports.
The Lions already used their one IR boomerang slot on cornerback Alex Carter, so the eight-week boomerang option isn't available for Levy.
