The Detroit Lions released veteran offensive tackle Jon Jansen on Saturday.
Jansen confirmed the move on his Twitter page.
"I was just told by the Lions I'm being cut today," Jansen wrote. "Needless to say I'm disappointed. I enjoyed playing for my home team and the city of Det."
The Lionsre-signed Jansen in March after he started twice and played in 11 games last season for the team.
Jansen, a veteran of 11 NFL seasons with the Lions and Washington Redskins, has played in 137 career games.
Jansen was drafted by the Redskins in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft.
