ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday that they have signed defensive lineman Keyunta Dawson.
The move comes as the Lions will be without star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who was suspended two games by the NFL for stomping on Green Bay Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith after the whistle last week. Suh has appealed.
Dawson, a defensive end, played with the Indianapolis Colts from 2007 to 2010, starting 14 games in 2008.
The Lions also have signed wide receiver Marcus Harris to the practice squad and placed wide receiver Nate Hughes on practice-squad injured reserve. Hughes has a leg injury. A team spokesman didn't say which leg.
