Little Rock mom leads concussion awareness via Heads Up Football

Monday's Heads Up Football news:

• KHTV-TV in Little Rock, Ark., featured an area mom who is using the Heads Up Football program to educate parents about concussion awareness. The station talked to Shona Ruth, whose son's autism "disappears" when he plays football.

• The Arizona Republic featured the state's Pop Warner Coaches Clinic, where the group learned about the partnership with the Mayo Clinic to provide baseline testing for all players. Dr. David Dodick talked about the initiative.

• a Kids & Pros Head Up Football clinic run by former NFL player Buddy Curry.

• KVVU-TV in Las Vegas reported on a Heads Up Football coaching clinic in its city.

• KOTA-TV in Rapid City, S.D., reported on a local coach who is teaching the Heads Up Football program.

• The Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Daugherty, who cities the advances of Heads Up Football, wrote that he hopes flag football doesn't replace "the real thing."

• USA Today featured Heads Up Football Across America, the five-part series on NFL Network and NFL Evolution that begins Monday.
